ImageThe Biodiesel Station is pleased to announce that for the first time in Australia, TBS has commenced selling soy-based B100 this winter.  The Soybiodiesel® is purchased from National Biodiesel.  Ray Adams, Sales Manager for National Biodiesel, says he is “excited about getting Soybiodiesel® into the retail market, and confident that Customers will be very pleased with the winter performance of soy-based Biodiesel”.

The B100 lab analysis shows a Cold Filter Plug Point (CFPP) of -4, and generally, for the Sydney market, this should be perfect.  Obviously, if you are venturing into climatic conditions below “0” it is advisable to top-up with some dino-diesel.

Although the Soybiodiesel® is imported from the USA, the journey that National Biofuels Pty Ltd is embarking upon could eventually transform the company from Australia’s largest importer of Biodiesel into Australia’s biggest producer of Biodiesel and Soybean Meal.

National Biodiesel Pty Ltd is constructing a US$220 million soybean processing facility at Port Kembla, 100 km South of Sydney, Australia. The facility will utilise proven, cutting edge technology from International supplier Desmet Ballestra to process over a million tonne of soybean into high quality Soybiodiesel® and Soybean Meal – the staple source of protein in animal feed.  Recently the DA was approved, and ground-breaking in imminent.

With storage and terminal facilities in both NSW at Port Kembla and in QLD at Pinkenba, Brisbane; National Biodiesel is determined to develop the market for their BQ-9000 certified B100 prior to the first soybean being crushed at the Australian facility.  Having witnessed the fall of major Australian company who built their plant before they secured the market, National seems to have learned that it only works one way.

Soybiodiesel® is the registered trademark for B100 or 100% soy biodiesel marketed by the National Biofuels Group.
